2 Maple Bacon S’mores
If you’re a true foodie, then making homemade marshmallows is probably on your list. There’s a wide selection of recipes to choose from but in this case, how can you ignore getting your hands messy to make a Maple Bacon variation? To start, follow the standard instructions of making a marshmallow mixture by using unflavoured gelatin, cold water, maple syrup, corn syrup, confectioner’s sugar and corn starch. Once done, focus on making the most important ingredient: candied bacon bits. Six slices of hickory smoked bacon will do and rubbing them with cinnamon sugar will allow them to caramelize while baking for 35 minutes. Once cool, finely chop the slices and fold the candied bits into the marshmallow mixture and let it set for at least six hours in a cool, dry place. Finish by cutting the slab into pieces and roasting them over an open flame before their sandwiched between bacon’s new bestfriends – bittersweet chocolate and two graham crackers.
