Because it’s ice cream, this one can be made the easy way or the homemade way. That’s where the difficulty lies. Bacon provides a bit of a salty and smokey flavour which can easily disrupt a flavour of ice cream that isn’t standard French Vanilla or Maple Walnut. Our advice: keep it simple and use one of the aforementioned flavours. Candied bacon bits pair well with both and everyone in the food world knows that anything maple is practically its best friend. That also doesn’t mean things have to be extremely boring. If regular ice cream mixed with shards of bacon is too basic, dusting the mixture with cinnamon or even adding nuts or white chocolate chips will transform the dessert into the monstrous burst of flavour it should be.
