13 A Fantastic Fear Of Everything
Starring: Simon Pegg, Alan Drake, Amara Karan, Clare Higgins, Sheridan Smith
Director: Crispian Mills
Out: 8 June 2012 (U.K.) (U.S. TBC)
A hyper-sensitive former children’s author (Pegg), now turned crime novelist, spends his nights entrenched in his latest script ‘Decades of Death’ with only his gruesome research into Victorian serial killers for company. Irrationally terrified of being murdered, he’s too scared to buy his own toilet paper, let alone use the local launderette. But he’ll need to face the latter because his long-suffering agent has finally got him a meeting. And when he ventures into the outside world, with carving knife for protection, he might just find that his paranoia isn’t entirely misplaced. Directorial debut of the former Kula Shaker frontman. Pegg often stumbles when he works with an entirely new team (see ‘Big Nothing’, ‘Burke And Hare’), and the further the role is from his real-life persona, the more he’s struggled (eg villain, accent).
