Labelled an outcast by his brainy family, a dumb but loveable bar bouncer (Scott) is plucked from obscurity to be the enforcer for a minor league hockey team. Soon he’s leading the crew of underperforming misfits to semi-pro hockey glory, beating the crap out of everything that stands in his way. From the director of ‘Take Me Home Tonight’, this is written by Evan Goldberg (‘Pineapple Express’) and Jay Baruchel. It feels very much like an independent rather than studio production, with a look that is sometimes a bit on the cheap side. I struggled to laugh, although it did improve toward the end.
