Ray Charles’ last album, ‘Genius Loves Company,’ became one of his most successful.

The legendary singer recorded his last project in the last few months of his life. He passed away in June 2004 at 73, before it was officially released.

On the LP, the singer collaborated with an all-star group of acclaimed musicians including Norah Jones, Gladys Knight, and B.B. King for a series of duets across genres.

‘Genius Loves Company’ received 10 Grammy nominations and in 2005, won the Album of the Year’ award, beating out a few other R&B artists nominated for the category that year including Alicia Keys for ‘Diary’ and Usher for ‘Confessions.’
