In 1974, Stevie Wonder became the first African-American artist to win a Grammy for Album of the Year. The milestone was awarded to his 16th album, ‘Innervisions’ — he was just 23 at the time.

The singer wrote, produced and arranged all the songs on the album, while playing almost all of the instruments as well, making him a one-man band.

The nine-track LP took on themes of love, spirituality, drug use and day-to-day obstacles. Some of the most popular records from the ‘Innervisions’-era are ‘Living For the City,’ ‘Golden Lady,’ ‘Don’t You Worry About a Thing’ and ‘Higher Ground.’
